As I said above the "2.1" MSCOMCTL.OCX that I have from the Office 2003 patch has a build version of 6.1.98.34, I assume the IE10 copy is later. But that made the trick %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\regtlibv12.e‌xe msdatsrc.tlb No more Object library not registered in VB6 :D. I'm sure there must be something I'm missing, just trying to work out what it is really. There is no indication that MS even knows about this or is working on a fix.
