Canoscan Toolbox Mac
The buttons no longer work on the scanner, but manually opening the canon software works to scan. It just hangs and I have to force quit. I haven't had descent preformance with my epson scanner for awhile now (I asked for info on his Mac and to confirm he's using the same version software noted in the The CanoScan LiDE 200 is listed there, and has been almost universally panned for this same issue (lack of Snow Leopard support). http://technologyprometheus.com/failed-to/failed-to-load-toolbox-item-visual-studio.html
I have the epson perfection 2580 scanner and the scanner does not show up in Photoshop CS3 or GraphicConverter 6.03 or ReadIris Pro 11. Dunno, but it's not a problem Matt Damon ever had. I clicked drivers and downloads which took me here. The pull down menu for selecting an OS has Windows 7, Windows 7 x64, Windows Vista, and Windows Vista x64.

It's a great scanner for documents/faxes/receipts, etc. This is a great scanner, really liked it because of the dual interface & ability to have it hooked up to 2 different computers at the same time. After my own futile and frustrating attempts to get the Epson 2450 to work successfully by going through all the usual troubleshooting and reinstalling I called them. It does show up in Image Capture.

Be the first to add it to a collection! In the section 'Link scanned image to' press set and browse to an imaging application, such as Preview, and then press Choose. The 636 is 8-10 years old but I have never had a problem using it with any version of OS X with Vuescan. The scanner is plugged directly into the computer via USB.I've had this scanner for a few years, I only use it intermittently (it's usually unplugged), and I haven't stressed the capabilities

You should have a folder for the scanner located in /Library/Preferences and your home folder Library/Preferences.

This solved the problem on a Mac OS X 10.5.7. If it still doesn't show up could you try a different browser. Next time, install CanoScan Toolbox with 1-clickLearn how MacUpdate Desktop can install apps on MacUpdate with the simple click of the icon. It was repeatable.
Select "show package contents" and navigate to the Contents/MacOS folder. Apple's ImageCapture must have somehow used/launched VueScan?
