Failed To Set Xfermode Err_mask 0x1 Report a bug This report contains Public information Edit Everyone can see this information. so only the kernel was updated, with pacman -Syyu, and packer -Syyu ?, and nuthin else.I'm wondering if the adaptec drivers got missied in some kernel-module update -although that is really additional hints With Kernel-2.6.21-3228.fc7, I no longer need the irqpoll option in Fedora to avoid the boot-up delay and the disappearance of ide assets.

I have problem with my DVD-burner. If it really hard to do this you can test this packaged kernel , but i don't guaranty any thing. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ . It sounds like this has worked before for you in the past.Unless I misunderstood, the 1420A does, in fact, support raid 0.1,10, and JBOD.

Thanks! Install went fine (using Gutsy DVD), but reboot hung as described. Comment 5 Frank Cox 2007-06-02 01:00:11 EDT I have been doing some further experimentation with IDE-config bios settings.

With the yum update of 2.6.22.1-41.fc7, I get these errors repeatedly: ata1.00: failed to set xfermode (errmask=0x40) COMRESET failed (-16) This also occurs with the vanilla kernel.org 2.6.22.1 and 2.6.22.3 kernels.

IIRC, the goal is to completely eliminate the old IDE > subsystem in favor of libata. Maybe the drive needs >>>> ATA_HORKAGE_NOSETXFER? I solved the message problem on Linux luisraul 2.6.20 with irqpoll, but the disk access performance is very low such as 20MB/s which should be ususally above 40MB/s. I'm having the same problem with another Pioneer unit (surprise) and commented about it on the flyspray bug opened by whaevr, but got no response so far...
