It's definitely not on the Mac side since when I shut down the VM the whole memory consumption (fan going crazy) goes away. That could very well be the case... From the Parallels Desktop menu, select Virtual Machine/Configure/Options/Applications and uncheck the Show Windows applications folder in Dock.
