Sql Server Management Studio 2008 Not Responding

On Windows 8.1 the multiple screen layout alignment causes this problem when not aligned to either the top or bottom. Don't know what went wrong (it worked just fine), but when I now open SSMS I get the same error. In Office, OTOH, it works for me about 99% of the time. I drag SSMS onto my second screen, close it, when opened again, it will always open on the 2nd screen. this content

This will prevent the phenomenon from occurring when Management Studio is set to open on your secondary screen automatically. I forced quit and then started SSMS again. It seems to be an issue when your laptop screen is not used as the main display. –John K Jan 29 '15 at 22:21 see stackoverflow.com/a/31549761/661584 for an easier I didn't think about that. http://superuser.com/questions/752560/sql-management-studio-hangs-when-opening-after-being-closed-down-on-dual-screen
